The Palazzo, my favorite home away from home! The rooms are twins to the Venetian with a different decor. You have the living room and a bedroom. The bathrooms are my favorite, they have a makeup area that is separate from the sinks, so the hubby can get ready without getting shaving cream all over my makeup. Oh, and we can do all of this while watching TV in the bathroom or in the bedroom or in the living room. Once you get the hang of the lights in the room...they have a master switch, its all good. Switch it the wrong way and splay out some new words while you scream in frustration. The drapes open with a remote control, I have got to have that at home. Bam, drapes open...time to get up! The beds are uber comfortable, so are the 6 pillows...and if you want more, there are usually two more in the closet. Service at the Palazzo in EVERY area is top notch from check in to drink service in the casino. The casino has wider aisles which is great for all of us claustrophobes and you can actually get some play time in for your dollar. Whoudda thot on the strip that this is possible? The crown jewel away from the high end restaurants and shops is the Grand Luxe Cafe. The food is always excellent, fresh and the portions are humongous. The price is reasonable for a resort of this quality.
The rooms are awesome, the casino is confusing, prepare to walk miles to find a bathroom, so plan ahead. ;) The Venetian is always hopping. Some days its full of conventioneers, some days its the night clubbers hanging out. If they would just kick the scent down a notch that they pipe through the public areas and casino, this place could score a darn near perfect. Love the food at the Grand Luxe, portions are ginormous! Everything you want is at the V, from shopping, world class chefs, a good gamble and a great bed at the end of the evening.
I was shocked when I walked into the room...OMG....black sheer curtains. I immediately got a funeral home vibe. Brown and ivory striped curtains, black sofa, everything is black, white, cream and brown. Gold and beige laminate walls with black trim around the ceiling, I felt like I was sleeping under a cheap formica table. The only color was a red behind the headboard of the bed. The bed IS very comfy which makes up for the gawd awful room decor. In the bathroom were black and white drawings that looked they were painted on a chalkboard of a nude woman with a big bottom. If I wanted to see that, I'd look in the mirror. On the plus side, the room's flat screen TV swivels so you can see it in the sofa area or from the bed. The bathroom has a TV and is large and has great amenities. The casino is boring, spotty drink service. Expectations for this place were much higher.
Off the strip spot with comfortable rooms and a big bathroom the size of the bathrooms in some of the 5 star strip resorts. I like to hang here because its a locals spot and has a more relaxed vibe than the strip. Sometimes you just gotta get away from the strip! Decent, well priced buffet. Lots of great places to eat adjacent to the hotel and lots of cool neat shops there also. Can't complain about customer service here.
My friends love the place. I like the casino! Sign up for the slot card and they'll bombard you with all sorts of free gifts, including wine, rum, t shirts and sun shades. You'll also get free room comps and free buffet coupons, but the line for the buffet is always long. When I want to eat, I don't want to wait in line for two hours, regardless of how good or how free it is. When I stand in line, the casino loses money.
I love the entrance to the Mirage, the palm trees, the orchids, the waterfall. The Mirage redid the inside of the casino. It went from tropical to feeling like every other casino, except that the Mirage has some cool glass sculptures by the high roller area. The rooms are comfortable and functional, they also took out the tropical decor and blanded them. They took out the cafe, so there is no longer a cafe on the property. The buffet is so so, used to be a lot better. Its so austere, no atmosphere at all. I like atmosphere!
TI is like an old friend, its comfortable, food is good, its easy to get around and its friendly. The rooms have been redone and the beds are some of the best in LV. The bathrooms are small but functional. The buffet is edible, but don't miss eating at Kahunaville. If you can score a 2 for $15.00 lunch coupon, its one of the best food deals in Vegas.
Lots of Rolex's, lots of tassels on the drapes. Despite the upper crust vibe, the place is friendly and fun. Comfortable rooms, comfortable beds. Great spa! The minus is the cafe, service gets slower every visit, but the food is good. Gasp at the prices of the beverages in the cafe, they rival the cost of the food. Sip water and drink in the casino for free.
I loved the Luxor before it was de-themed. There was something about the Egyptian theme that I loved, it gave it a mysterious feel. The new hip theme is boring and there is no longer anything special about the place. They made the place bland! The rooms in the tower are nicer than in the pyramid, but the halls in the tower are just plain weird. The buffet is horrible, but I tend to sugar coat. The cafe is OK, nothing special, but it will fill a hole. Bring back the theme, otherwise its like a Motel 6 with night clubs and an inclinator.
