I have been a resident of Las Vegas since 2010. I have only worked on or around the strip. I have stayed at 15 different strip/downtown hotels (some more than once) as a frequent HotelTonight customer and that number grows every month. I admire Las Vegas for it's ever-changing charm and I'm always seeking the new things. If it's on the strip or downtown, I've probably seen it, tried it, or walked by it at least once.

Mandarin Oriental

Top of the line. If you expect nothing but expensive and awesome.. This is your treat. The pool on the 6th floor is breathtaking. However, one does feel awkward wearing anything less than a suit.

Orleans

My favorite local spot.. Cheap beer at the bar(s), hot waitresses, the champagne brunch is mediocre but editable. I've never stayed here but I've won a lot and lost a lot here. The bowling is worth it. And the place always smells good.

Beautiful all the way around. I just wish it was closer to all the action. The buffet is awesome. The pool is gorgeous. I've never stayed here but do frequently visit.

I've stayed here a couple of times. Their customer service sucks and good luck getting attention from the wait staff at the Pink Taco however, Mr Lucky's has an AWESOME breakfast menu. Vinyl is a great intimate live venue and the new Joint is spacious and sounds great. They've had some management problems through the years but I think they are starting to figure things out.

Big.. Distant from the strip however worth the walk for the experience. The Buffet (at breakfast) is delicious, and Zarkana is an awesome Cirque show. And I love the aroma that they pump in there.

I spent 2 years of my life here as an employee and during the Maloof boot-out transition. Personally, I've been in just about every suite, worked in all the clubs and restaurants and it's new sportsbook. Honestly, if you want to stay here, I would suggest Palms Place over the Ivory or Fantasy towers. Unless you have a couple of hundreds of bucks, the sky villas in The Fantasy tower are gnarly. The Pearl is a beautiful concert venue. They are constantly changing their restaurants so I can't be a judge here. Brenden Theaters feel cheap but to the point and the Eatery has everything or anything you could want. A lot of older locals hang out here to gamble during the day. The new center bar is attractive. The Lounge is small but gets the job done. The new owners/management are trying hard to spiffy the place up and for the most part are doing well but lacking in a lot of detail. This place was the bomb when George Maloof was strolling the casino floor everyday. Those days are past us..

OMG.. This place is truly a dump. But.. It's cheap. I stayed here once for 5 days because it was cheaper than staying at an extended stay. The staff is carefree but will help if you ask and the rooms are nothing impressive but I would recommend staying here if you have a tight budget.
