Ratings & Reviews

Wynn Las Vegas

Wynn Las Vegas

Wynn is recommended for luxury guests. Encore is recommended for the wild party crowd. Le Reve is one of the best Cirque-style shows in town. Standard rooms at Wynn are the best in Las Vegas. Wynn's casino, conservatory and pool are comparable to Bellagio's.

MGM Grand

MGM Grand

MGM's Lazy River Pool is the best free pool party in Las Vegas. KA is a spectacular show. The stage is amazing and the performers are incredible athletes. CSI Experience is fun. MGM Grand has some of the best restaurants in Las Vegas. Joel Robuchon is the best of the best.

Encore

Encore

Wynn's hotel for the wild party crowd.

Caesars Palace

Caesars Palace

Absinthe is the weirdest show in Las Vegas: Cirque du Soleil meets Rocky Horror. Funny, crude and exciting. Don't forget to order your very own Absinthe drink(s) before the show.

Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Famous for rooms with balconies overlooking the Bellagio Fountains. Good restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Beautiful casino with a great vibe.

Bellagio

Bellagio

Lake Como, Italy theme. One of the best Cirque shows, O is performed here on an indoor lagoon. Dancing fountains. Floral conservatory updated seasonally. $100 million Dale Chihuly ceiling in the lobby. Beautiful pool. Great restaurants including Picasso, Le Cirque, and Olives.

Mirage

Mirage

Polynesian theme, tropical lagoon pool, volcano eruptions, white lions, dolphins and exotic animals. Beatles Love and Terry Fator are fun shows. Sandwiches at Carnegie Deli are huge; pig out or split one with a friend. Rooms are small with one sink and shower/tub combo.

Palms

Palms

Recommended for great video poker/slot machine odds and good restaurants. Used to be the happening place in Las Vegas: Playboy Club, Ghostbar, Rain, and Moon all had excellent views of the Strip. Only Ghostbar and Moon remain open. Fantasy Tower rooms are newer.

Treasure Island

Treasure Island

Good value. Great location near Mirage, Venetian and Wynn. Mystere is a fantastic show - the original Cirque show in Las Vegas. Ride the mechanical bull at Gilley's. Gilley's barbecue is good too. Pool is small. Hot tub is huge. Rooms are small with shower/tub combo and one sink.

Palazzo

Palazzo

Rooms are big with separate tub and shower and two sinks. Good location. Attached to Venetian and Sands Convention Center. Next door to Wynn and Fashion Show Mall. Palazzo is nice, but it doesn't give off the same exciting vibe of a Wynn, Bellagio, or Mirage.

ARIA

ARIA

Designed by an accountant? Feels like a mausoleum. No soul. Okay for bean counters, I guess.

New York-New York

New York-New York

Vegas kitsch at its finest. Roller coaster is best experienced at night. Zumanity is wicked fun. Loved the indoor pub scene. Sushi at Chin Chin, pizza at Sirrico's, coffee shop fare at Americas. Rooms are small with one sink and shower/tub combo. Pool is small and uninspired.

Paris Las Vegas

Paris Las Vegas

Indoor decor is cobblestone village with boutique shops. Mon Ami Gabi bistro overlooks the Strip. Guest rooms have separate tub and shower and two sinks. Pool is small, but features the Eiffel Tower. Standard rooms are old. Paris offers better rooms for a higher rate.

Golden Nugget

Golden Nugget

Downtown's swankiest hotel. Downtown boasts a dozen casinos with better odds than the Strip. Fremont Street Experience is just outside the hotel. Swimming pool features live sharks. Carson Tower rooms are standard with old furniture. Rush Tower rooms are newer.

LuXor

LuXor

Blue Man Group performs here. Other shows: Fantasy (female stripper singers), Carrot Top and Criss Angel. Rooms are old. Pyramid rooms are famous for odd angles.

Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino

Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino

Penn & Teller are the world's funniest magicians. Voodoo Lounge has a spectacular view of the Strip. Pool is small, unless you pay extra for Bikini Beach Party. Guest rooms are old with shower/tub combo, two sinks, safe and refrigerator. Rio offers a shuttle to the Strip until 1 am.

Excalibur

Excalibur

Budget hotel on the South Strip. Tournament of Kings dinner theater performed here. Standard rooms are old and cheap. Widescreen rooms have newer furniture and cost a few bucks more. Both rooms come with one sink, a shower and no tub.

Bally's Las Vegas

Bally's Las Vegas

Budget hotel on the center strip. Great location across the street from Bellagio. Rooms are old with shower/tub combo and one sink.
