Wynn Las Vegas

Wynn Las Vegas

Finally got to stay here in 2014 and enjoyed it very much - not as much as I thought I would, but very much. My room was comfortable and service was outstanding. The casino is beautiful indeed, but honestly, I find the unrelenting symmetry of the place to be somewhat oppressive. Like, it started to drive me nuts after awhile. Also there's the oontz factor. I could definitely hear it in my golf course-facing room on the 31st floor, although it wasn't bad enough to keep me awake (and I'm a light sleeper). Pool area was fairly civilized, although I saw plenty of bad behavior by other guests, of the drop-your-s**t-on-a-chair-and-come-back-hours-later variety. I would stay here again, but probably not before I've tried all the other luxury options.

Mirage

Mirage

The Mirage used to be my Las Vegas home. I still love all the tropical foliage inside and outside, but recent changes (especially downgrades to gaming conditions) have made me less of a fan. Rooms are nice (although not overly fancy) and comfortable, but a bit overpriced. The pool remains the star attraction if you're into that sort of thing.

Stratosphere

Stratosphere

Took advantage of two-night comp over Presidents Day weekend. Stratosphere Select room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, despite being next to the ice machine. Casino was crap, however. All "blackjack" was 6-5, and it seems many of the most popular slots had been removed (not a Wizard of Oz slot of any variety to be found).

El Cortez

El Cortez

My tower room was just fine - clean, quiet, and fairly spacious (except for the tiny bathroom) so I was happy to stay here as a solo traveller. Oh, also it was cheap, which helps. I do love playing at this casino though. I love the flowery fragrance that hits you like a slap from grandma when you walk in the door. I (mostly) love the oddball mix of people who play and hang out here. I love the craps here more than anyplace else. The whole package is a strange brew that's maybe not for everybody but that delights me every time.
